What is an Electric Tuk Tuk?
An Electric Tuk Tuk, also known as an Electric Passenger Tricycle or Bajaj Style E-Taxi, is a three-wheeled electric vehicle designed for urban and semi-urban passenger transport. It runs on battery power, produces zero emissions, and is widely used as an eco-friendly alternative to fuel-based tricycles in markets across Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.
What are the overall dimensions and seating capacity of this electric taxi tricycle?
Our models range from compact 4-seater versions to extended 7-passenger variants. Overall lengths vary from approximately 2.6 to 3.4 meters, depending on the configuration. This allows flexibility for different market needs, from city taxis to rural transport.
What motor power options are available of this E- tuk? Which markets are they suitable for?
We offer 3000W and 4000W motor options. The 3000W is ideal for most areas with moderate loads, while the 4000W version delivers better torque and hill-climbing performance—preferred in hilly or rough-terrain regions.
What is the top speed and typical driving range of each model?
Top speed varies between 50–55 km/h depending on the model. With a 72V 150Ah battery, most units can travel 140–180 km per charge under standard load conditions.
What type of braking system is used? Are hydraulic brakes supported?
Our Electric Passenger Tricycles use a combination of disc and drum brakes. Front disc brakes are standard on most models for improved safety. Some models support optional hydraulic braking systems if required.
What materials are used for the chassis and body? Is reinforced steel available?
The chassis is constructed using high-strength welded steel tubes, with some models using thickened frames for higher durability. The body is typically made from a combination of plastic, iron, and reinforced panels, depending on the model.
What type of front and rear suspension is equipped? Can it handle rough roads?
Most models are equipped with dual front fork suspension and rear spring shock absorbers. Higher-end models may feature double rocker suspension or independent shock systems—suitable for poor road conditions.
What battery types are recommended for each model? Can I choose between lithium and lead-acid?
While both lithium and lead-acid batteries are technically compatible, we strongly recommend lithium batteries for all electric tuk models. Compared to lead-acid, lithium batteries offer significantly higher energy density, smaller physical size, lighter weight, and faster charging. More importantly, they provide stronger and more consistent power output—especially critical for commercial use and long-distance routes. Although the upfront cost is higher, the longer lifespan and performance advantages make lithium the better long-term investment for fleet operators and daily users.
Is a digital dashboard included? What kind of vehicle information does it display?
Yes. All models include a digital meter showing speed, battery level, mileage, and sometimes error codes for diagnostics. Interfaces may vary slightly by model.
Are USB ports, Bluetooth speakers, or radio included as part of the standard features of this passenger tricycle?
Many models come with USB charging ports, speakers, and basic audio features. Bluetooth and FM radio may be included or offered as optional upgrades.
Can I add options like LED lights, electric rain curtains, or other upgrades?
Yes, we support customization. Popular upgrades include LED headlamps, electric rain covers, safety doors, roof fans, or rearview cameras depending on model and MOQ.
What types of use cases are these tricycles suitable for?
Our Electric Tuk Tuks are widely used in passenger transport sectors—urban taxi service, tourist shuttles, last-mile commuting, and rural transit. Some clients also use them for school transport or small fleet operations.
How far can one vehicle typically run per day? What routes or areas does it best serve?
With 140–180 km per charge with 72V150AH Li-On battery, they’re ideal for daily intra-city or town-to-village trips. Operators typically run 80–120 km/day, making these vehicles very economical for local routes.
How does your Bajaj Style E-Taxi compare to traditional fuel-based Tuk Tuks?
Compared to fuel models, Electric Tuk Tuks have lower daily operating costs, minimal maintenance, and no fuel consumption. They’re also quieter and eco-friendly—often eligible for local green transport subsidies.
How long does it take to fully charge the batteryIs fast charging available?
Standard charging time is around 7–9 hours using a regular charger with a lithium battery. At this time, we do not supply fast-charging battery systems directly. However, if fast charging is a key requirement in your market, you’re welcome to source compatible lithium battery packs locally that support high-current charging, as our vehicles are technically adaptable to such configurations.
Why do prices vary between different tuk taxi models? What are the key configuration differences?
Pricing is influenced by multiple factors including motor power, vehicle size, passenger capacity, frame strength, brake and suspension systems, paint finish, and additional features like doors, roof covers, and electronics. Larger and higher-spec vehicles naturally cost more.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)? Can I order a sample unit first?
We can absolutely support 1–2 sample units for testing and evaluation—no problem at all. For bulk production, our standard MOQ is 10 units, as this allows us to offer customizations such as color selection and optional features. We generally recommend ordering by 20GP container, which typically holds 10–15 units depending on the model. Full container shipments are much more cost-efficient in terms of both unit pricing and freight.
What is your general production and delivery lead time?
Standard production lead time is 15–25 working days after deposit. For larger orders or special customization, timelines may vary based on factory load.
Are the tricycles shipped fully assembled or in parts? Is SKD/CKD available?
Most electric tuk tricycle models support SKD or CKD shipment to reduce volume and import duty. We provide clear assembly guides, and the structure is designed for easy bolt-based reassembly.
. How many units can fit into a 40HQ container? Does this vary by model?
Yes. Depending on the model and packaging format, a 40HQ container can typically fit 25-35units for SKD orders. Larger 6-seater models may load only 12–25 units per 40HQ.
Can you arrange ocean shipping?
Yes, we can handle full logistics including ocean freight. CIF and FOB terms are both available depending on your preferred port and shipping method.
How do you handle battery shipping since it’s classified as hazardous cargo?
We have experience exporting both lead-acid and lithium batteries. Lithium batteries are shipped under UN regulations and packed with necessary MSDS, UN38.3, and IMDG documents. We can also ship batteries separately if needed.
Are you a trading company or a direct factory? Where is your factory located?
We are a direct factory based in China with years of experience in electric tricycle manufacturing. All vehicles are designed, assembled, and quality-checked in-house.
Do you perform full vehicle testing before delivery? Can you provide inspection reports?
Each unit is tested for electrical safety, braking performance, and mechanical stability before shipping. We can provide factory inspection records and support third-party QC checks upon request.
Can clients visit the passenger electric tricycle factory?
Yes, clients are always welcome to visit our factory and see the Electric Tuk Tuks in person. To save time and travel costs, we can also arrange a live virtual tour via Zoom or other platforms, allowing you to inspect the production line and vehicle models remotely.
What is your warranty policy? Which parts are covered under warranty?
We offer 1-year warranty for the motor and controller, and 6 months for structural components (excluding consumables). For lithium batteries, warranty may vary based on the supplier.
If problems occur, can you provide remote video-based technical support?
Absolutely. Our support team can assist via video calls, photos, and voice guidance. For SKD clients, we offer assembly videos and manuals as well.
Do you provide a spare parts list? Can we order extra parts in advance?
Yes, we provide a standard spare parts list with every order. You can also order extra parts such as brake pads, switches, motors, or controllers for after-sales backup.
What Drives the Cost of an Electric Tuk Tuk?
Grondstof Koste
The cost of materials directly affects the final price of an Electric Passenger Tricycle. Steel thickness, motor grade, tire quality, and battery capacity all play a role. We use industrial-grade components—including rear axles, controllers, and seating frames—to ensure safety and durability, especially for long-term commercial use.

Underestimating the Importance of Quality
For long-term commercial use, quality isn’t optional — it’s essential. Key components like the electric motor, suspension system, axles, chassis structure, and brake systems must withstand heavy-duty use over time. Choosing a low-quality model may result in frequent breakdowns, higher maintenance costs, and poor overall performance. A well-built Electric Passenger Tricycle ensures long-term reliability, safety, and a better return on investment.
Overlooking After-Sales Support
No matter how good a vehicle is, issues may eventually arise. If you don’t consider the quality of after-sales service and spare parts availability when selecting a supplier, you may face long downtimes or costly repairs. It's vital to ensure your supplier provides responsive support and accessible replacement parts. A strong after-sales system protects your business from unexpected disruptions and keeps your electric tuk tuk fleet running smoothly.
Ignoring Terrain Adaptability
Road conditions vary greatly from country to country — and even city to city. If your tuk tuk is used in poor road conditions, vehicle design matters more than ever. Without a reinforced frame, proper shock absorption, and anti-roll protection, the tricycle may tilt, break down, or become unsafe for passengers. Our Bajaj-Style E‑Taxi options are engineered for tough terrain — stable, balanced, and safe for both driver and passengers.
